What medications can cause overweight?
Examples (list is not exhaustive) of drugs that can cause obesity:
* Lithium: the manic / manodepressinv / bipolar disorder. More.
* Cortisone: cortisone and prednisone for rheumatoid arthritis and allergies.
* Epilepsy-medication: Dekapote, valproate.
* Anti-depressants: Elavil, Trofranil, Xerox, Cipramil, Sertraline, Zoloft, etc. More.
* Anti-Psycho Logistics: Klorpromasin, Ergenyl, Absenor, Orfilir.
* Migraine Medications: Sandomigrin, Ergenyl, Trypizol.
* Estrogen: Follimin, Follinett, Neovletta.
* Insulin for Type 2 Diabetes: Insulatard, Humulin, Actrapid.
* Anti-cancer: Nolvadex, Tamoxifen.
* Beta-blockers: (against high blood pressure) Inderal, Cardura.
* Rheumatism funds: Etanercept, Enbrel
* Anti-heartburn: Nexium, Prevavid (these agents may also provide weight loss for some people)
All people who use these medications can not gain weight. The same medicine may cause weight gain for some people and weight loss for others. Do not stop medication without consulting your doctor. There are almost always alternative drugs that do not weight gain. Example: The anti-depressant medications Prozac / Prozac / Fluoxetine gives more weight loss than weight gain.
