If he is friendly with you, the best way to introduce new foods is to share with him. Birds naturally share their food with mates and other birds in the flock. Take him out (or if he isn’t that friendly, sit by his cage, nice and close) and eat some fruits and veggies. Your bird will naturally be curious. Give him just a tiny bit of what you are eating, just to arouse his curiousity. I can almost guarantee you that he will start eating fruits and veggies. It might take a few times to introduce several different things, but it does work. Best of luck!
Aw, seems you got a little junkie on your hands. My cockatiels didn’t touch strange foods at first as well. Try dicing the fruit and veggies into little bits: carrots, lettuce, and apple are good. Then toss them lightly with your parakeet’s seeds to coat the fruits and veggies with them. This will make your birds have to pick the seeds directly off of the veggies and hopefully they will get a taste of some of the lettuces and healthy stuff and decide that they don’t mind it. They should warm up to it. Just be sure there are no other available food sources for them at the time. Also, try sprinkling water on a paper towel and grow some of the bird seed. When they sprout, offer these to your birds. It’s worth a try. Hope this helps!

they make bird treats in hanging fashion, you can buy them at wally world or pet stores hang one in their cage and give less regular food they’ll eat it eventually as they’ll get hungry.
